Meet the Britell Family

Kevin is a special little guy! Bless his heart he has a whole slew of complications including Couzon's Syndrome, which is a genetic disorder where his skull was fused together (he didn't have soft spots like a regular baby). He also has Epilepsy, Hypertrophic olivary degeneration (this is the glands that are on your spinal cord close to your cerebrum, Kevin's are enlarged and olive shaped). He also recently has been diagnosed with sleep apnea which is why he has a trach and a vent in his throat. Up until a couple weeks ago, Kevin was in the hospital for the sleep apnea. If you could all say a little prayer for him. He's one touch little cookie! :) Super sweet little guy and was super excited to show me his very own Christmas tree in his room. :)

Meet the Hood Family

uch a sweet family. It was a pleasure meeting them. It was too chilly and windy to go outside so we stayed in and I think they pictures turned out super sweet! 2 year old David had a heart defect he was born with and because of some complications suffered some brain damage. He is super sweet though and they way his older sister Abbi interacted with him just melted me heart. ♥ Thank you for welcoming me into your home you guys. I hope you enjoy the pictures! :)

Welcome to Paper Hearts, a new project I've started to benefit families that have chronically or terminally ill children or children with a lifelong disability. I believe that a family faced with a struggle to be strong in such a situation has little time nor means to worry about getting professional pictures taken. I want to volunteer my time to give these families something to look forward to and memories to cherish.
